The line graph illustrates changes in the number of participants involved in five social activities in Australia between 2000 and 2020.
Overall, film clubs remained the most popular activity throughout the entire period. Meanwhile, table tennis and musical performances gained popularity over time, whereas amateur dramatics experienced a marked decline.
Participation in film clubs fluctuated slightly, beginning at about 65 people in 2000, dropping to around 60 in 2010, and then rising again to nearly 68 by 2020. Similarly, martial arts numbers varied between approximately 30 and 40 participants. Although it ranked second in 2000 with roughly 35 members, it was overtaken by table tennis in 2015 and became the third most popular activity by 2020.
Musical performances showed significant growth, increasing from virtually zero participants in 2005 to around 20 in 2020. However, table tennis experienced the most dramatic rise overall, climbing from fewer than 20 participants in 2000 to almost three times that figure by 2020. In contrast, amateur dramatics declined steadily from about 25 participants to just 5 over the same period.
